Default Worldwake/M11 Spoiler/Rumors

I just saw that Smother was spoiled for Worldwake. Better get your old playsets soon. I can imagine those being $2 a piece in Standard, especially since they're still played in eternal formats as well.

I heard a nasty rumor that Baneslayer Angel is being reprinted in M11, has anyone heard anything like that? As someone who has sold 5 already, I'm not looking forward to having Walletslayer in Standard, skewing deck prices for another core set season.

I dont think smother will be that good unless the format totally changes. Lightning bolt and path already kill most of the 3 mana creatures and then there is terminate which is strictly better than smother. Furthermore, terminate is a 50 cent card, I dont know why smother would be more expensive then terminate. I'm just not sure why smother is better than any of the other removal spells in standard.

How about the fact that Smother is absolutely nuts against the new manland(s) in WorldWake? Lightning Bolt doesn't touch it, and Path'ing a land is a tad counterproductive.
You have seen the 4/5 for GGG, right? Smother gets him too.

hence the reason why I say "unless the format totally changes". I wrote the post before I saw the dual land and the 3 mana 4/5. In the current standard I think smother is pretty bad. That 3 mana 4/5 is also quesitionable in my opinion because its ggg which makes it very hard to play.

Um Smoother was already 1.5-2USD a copy since late 2007.

You're not up to speed with the price checks on older cards. If a specific older card that isn't on the reserve list is reprinted, I give the team a hand in making Legacy more affordable to the average consumer.

Because then the buyer has more choices to pick from different print runs of a specific card as seen with Lightning Bolt and Counterspell.

Then I don't care much for Baneslayer. If they reprint it "so what", it brings the price down for those who don't have copies of it yet. That's what the copy does all the time to rack up new players, keep the current player base humming with the possibility of bringing a few older ones back for more.

I assume that they are just going to keep 25%-50% of the Core Sets new with the rest of it as either flavor shifts or reprints. M10 had 25% new cards, 25% flavor shifts and the rest of the set reprints.

If M11 has more stuff geared for the eternal players, hooray for a spike in eternal numbers. If not, shell'em.
